On May 10th, Michelle Leas (Miss Teen Saskatoon-World) and I, Miss Teen Central Saskatchewan-World, took our first steps on the path towards the final competition in Toronto this summer. One of the main features of the fundraiser was the bands we got to play for us. Three bands came and played their hearts out, they were all amazing and two of them, Rising 4 and Major Flinch, already have their own CD's out. The third band was a group of local ladies called the Fire Lilies. The Fire Lilies kicked off the dinner portion of the evening with their Folk style music and beautiful vocals, they fit the theme of Mother's day perfectly seeing as the head of the band (Betty Ann) is the mother of the rest of the band members! Michelle and I couldn't have been more happy to have all of these wonderful bands come out and support us!

Everyone had a great time shopping at our silent auction, eating the great food, and just relaxing listening to the bands. The fundraiser was a complete success and Michelle and I even got to hang out with the bands after they played, which was a lot of fun. The members all gave us their "Good Lucks" and thanked us for having them come and play. It was a great night and I couldn't think of a better way to have started off the journey to the pageant final in toronto this summer, other than the pageant we held here :]
